Lori Mary is passionate about quilting, and you will find evidence of that passion spread throughout her Bowie, Md. home.  Upstairs in her daughter's former bedroom, she keeps shelves upon shelves of fabric organized by size and color.  Lori maps out her quilts by hanging various shapes and color combinations along the bedroom wall.  She uses her kitchen to cut all her fabric and to iron pieces before they go through her sewing machine.  In the living room, behind the love seat, Lori's restored 1925 Singer sewing machine sits in a corner.  Built with used parts found on online, this machine includes a cast iron treadle that Lori expertly works with her foot.  Except for the clanging of the constantly spinning hand crank, the room is fairly quiet as Lori works on pieces of her quilt.  Its a peaceful way to spend a Thursday evening, listening to the rhythm her and her machine at work.
